THE DIARY OF THE LATE GEORGE DUBB DODINGTON 1784 AMAZING CONDITION. I am pleased to offer: THE DIARY OF THE LATE GEORGE DUBB DODINGTON 1784 AMAZING CONDITION. I am pleased to offer: The Diary of the Late George Bubb Dodinton Baron of Melcombe Regis: from March 8, 1749, to February 6, 1761. According to Wikipedia: George Bubb Dodington, 1st Baron Melcombe PC (1691 28 July 1762) was an English Whig politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1715 to 1761. Apparently Dodington was quite a social gadfly and a connoisseur and collector of fine art something made possible by a substantial inheritance from a late uncle. This book includes An Appendix containing some curious and interesting papers and is a new edition compiled by Henry Penruddocke Wyndham. This small hard cover book (5 ¼ x 8 ¾ inches, 506 pages) was printed and sold by E. Easton of Salisbury dated 1784. It is bound in pale beige cloth boards with a red & gilt leather label on the spine. The page edges are tinted a light red. Condition: This book is in very good condition. I thought at first that this book was a facsimile reprint from a later date but it appears to be a 1784 printing possibly rebound. Then too, it may just be well preserved. There is some very faint bumping to the corners and spine tips and the page edges show some very minor soiling. There is a tiny chip off the spine label. Inside the book is unmarked and the pages are clean and bright with some very faint toning towards the upper margin but no foxing. Both hinges are intact but the binding is cracked at the dedication page without any real impact on its stability. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. .""
