Quarto, 192pp., illustrated. Very gently bumped at the corners, otherwise a crisp, clean copy; near fine in the publisher's brownish boards. In a very good dust jacket with mild rubbing and some short tears to extremities. SIGNED and nicely INSCRIBED by Oliphant with a drawing on the front free endpaper: "For Ralph + Sunny Sutton with my best regards. Pat Oliphant." According to his obituary, the stride piano player Ralph Sutton had a wife named Sunnie; it seems distinctly likely that these two were the recipients of this inscription.
