This first translation of Linnaeus the Younger's Supplementum Plantarum (1782) which was meant to continue his father's works Genera Plantarum (1737) and the 1753 Species Plantarum as well as Johan Andreas Murray's 13th edition of Linnaeus' Systema Naturæ which he titled Systema Vegetabilium (1774).
Erasmus Darwin conceived the project and enlisted Joseph Bans and Samuel Johnson - Linnaeus the younger reportedly sent an advance copy of his work for their project.
This is the first edition in the English language.
