The successful Broadway production of this comedic play about cadets at the Virginia Military Institute ran for 577 performances between December 1936 and April 1938. It also served as the basis for the 1938 William Keighley film starring Ronald Reagan and Jane Wyman, who appeared in its sequel, Brother Rat and a Baby (1940), and were married the same year.
