Lothar Baumgarten's interpretive documentation of America's railroad network, from landscapes, to tracks, to the art deco waiting room at Los Angeles' Union Station; with the tonally rich photographs heightened by innovative typographic elements. (Roth 268-269). One of 1750 copies; this one INSCRIBED by Baumgarten to colophon (dated 21.7.93). Accompanying pamphlet of short stories also SIGNED by the artist. Some foxing to endpapers, else near fine in decorative cloth boards. In illustrated jacket, with short edge-tears and some scuffing to rear panel; close to near fine. Housed in custom cloth clamshell, with leather lettering piece to spine.
