Hardcover with dustjacket, a later publication, published by World with "First Printing July 1948" stated on copyright page, the blue cloth binding with red title and illustration is well-preserved overall, there is mild surface-wear along the bottom edge and the spine-ends are a bit wrinkled, the binding is clean and tight, the contents are fine and there are no other remarkable book flaws, the jacket has moderate tanning on the spine and folds and a mild damp-mark on the reverse side has caused a reddish cast to the white title on the front panel, also, a partially open tear on the front panel, the jacket remains pleasing to the eye and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included
