Possible 1st London Hodder and Stoughton printing 1885. Attractive navy blue cloth with bright gilt embellishments/title. Tips and spine ends bumped/rubbed with micro cloth splits in spine end cloth. Plain black endpapers, frt hinge fine, rear hinge cracked. 395pp text is solid, spine cracked at one spot but page block tight and holding well. Photo frontis portrait of Lincoln. 1.25"" split in cloth at head of rear gutter. Mostly removed adhesive sticker from frt pastedown, glue rems on opposite page. Uncommon volume in solid, serviceable condition.
