Statistical Reports of the Health of the Royal Navy - This is a rare collection of 15 yearly volumes providing a unique insight into the Royal Navy during the period 1869 to 1891.
Because of their importance the volumes are being offered as a set rather than individually.
This set comprises 15 bound annual hardback volumes with leather trim covering.
There is no report for the year 1875.
As best I can ascertain this is not a missing volume and no report was issued for that year, but I may be wrong.
Given their age these hardcover volumes are in very good condition (see photos).
There is some wear on the spines and covers and some discoloration inside covers but overall, the inside pages, including maps and tables, are clear, fully intact and tight.
The Royal Navy commenced gathering this data from 1840.
Each volume provides a detailed account of annual data related to disease within the service from stations across the globe.
Diseases, stations, vessels, and individual cases of note are described in detail.
This provides insights into many aspects of the Royal Navy operations and personnel from a bygone age.
