AFRIKANISCHE KUNST FROM THE BARBIER-MUELLER COLLECTION GENEVA 1988 DJ NEAR FINE CONDITION. Here for your consideration is another of the group of large format hard cover books about African Art which I have been hanging on to and enjoying but which now need to find new homes. This one is entirely in German and titled: ""Africanische Kunst aus der Sammlung Barbier-Mueller, Genf,"" (African Art from the Barbier-Mueller Collection, Geneva), published by Werner Schmalenbach, with contributions from a number of specialists, with the approval of Monique Barbier-Mueller, and photographs by Roger Asselberghs. It was published by Prestel Verlag of Munich dated 1988. This large book (9 x 12 inches, 320 pages) is nicely enhanced with 295 illustrations, including 71 in color and 134 in duplex and 7 four-color maps. The hard covers are bound in a dark brown finely ribbed cloth with embossed titles on the cover and white titles on the spine. It is protected by a glossy, pictorial dust jacket, itself enveloped in a Brodart dust jacket cover. Condition: This book is in near fine condition. There is a tiny amount of edge wear to the dust jacket, basically a tiny chip off one lower corner. This damage should be over given the protection now afforded by the mylar sheath covering it. The hard covers are pristine, unbumped, very clean and bright, with bright white titles on the spine. Inside, the book is unmarked and unblemished in any way and the pages and plates are clean and bright throughout. The hinges are fully intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
