SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Acheson on the front free endpaper: ""To Frank Pace with much affection from a fellow worker in the same jungle. Dean Acheson."" Given the context, this is certainly Frank Pace, the Secretary of the Army under Harry Truman, who served in that position while Acheson was Secretary of State. A most appealing association.
