The book was famously made into a very successful movie for which the late Maggie Smith won the Academy Award for Best Actress. First Edition, thus, the book is printed on Ibis White Wove paper and bound in full cloth blocked with a design by Peter Forster. 152 pages and illustrated in colour by Beryl Cook. The book is in Fine condition and loosely inserted is a small plain white card which has been hand-signed by Muriel Spark in blue ink. Partial pencil notes to the verso of the card, which can be easily trimmed for mounting at the title page if so-desired. A lovely, collectable copy of this modern classic. Slipcase present.
