Product Description

by W.[William] E.[Edward] D.[Daniel] Ross. [New York]: Lenox Hill Press, 1971. First edition. 1971 printed to the title page, '2' to the copyright page, and $3.95 to the jacket's flap. By the Canadian actor and prolific genre author, that employed numerous pseudonyms including Marilyn Ross for his Dark Shadows Barnabas Collins TV tie-in novels. An exceedingly SCARCE mystery title. This stand-alone, 1897 Massachusetts historical murder mystery, gothic, and suspenseful whodunit, involves gossip about a piano playing ghost. Clear, mild one-inch tape shadows to the upper and lower covers, a former marked price white-out and blacked-out to the front end-sheet, with two small amber tape-shadows to its upper end, pages starting to tan as usual, else firm and very good in gray linen with black publisher's insignia to the front cover and with black titles to the spine; in a very good dust jacket with piano-playing ghost art to the front panel, with slight rubbed crimps to the upper and lower spine edges; original printed $3.95 price still visible beside inked prices and a blacked-out price to the front and rear inner flaps. The dust jacket will be placed in a clear, removable protective sleeve after scanning for this entry.
