An expansion of his earlier work ""Old Coaching Days"" (1882) with discussion on highway improvement, mail distribution, coaching inns and introduction of railroads. This copy in VG condition with chipping at crown of spine; moderate rubbing to bottom edges of covers; small closed tear at bottom of title page; light foxing to rear only of frontispiece, o/w all plates clean and bright. Original pictorial blue cloth front cover bound in at rear. Bearing bookplates of Abraham Burtis Baylis, former president of the New York Stock Exchange during the Civil War plus William Baylis Junior affixed to front pastedown. An attractive copy.
