""The 622 described wires in this book are made up of 401 patents and 221 modifications thereof, and as far as could be determined by the writer, covers just about all the patents issued by our patent system for Improvements in Barbed Fenching during the years 1867 to 1897."" The book's hinges are sound. All pages are clean and lightly tanned. No bumped corners. There is slight wear and soiling to top and bottom edges of covers and spine. The rest of the covers and spine are spotless. The dust jacket is not price-clipped. It is moderately tanned, has a single tiny hole and a few small chips and tears along top and bottom edges.
