San Francisco: A.M. Robertson, 1916., 1916. Very good. - Octavo, 7-3/4 inches high by 5-3/8 inches wide. Hardcover, bound in green cloth titled in gilt on the spine and with a vignette in gilt on the front cover. The head & tail of the spine are lightly bumped. [iv], 167 & [1] pages. There is minor offsetting to the inner edges of the endpapers. Very good. First edition. Inscribed in green ink by George Sterling, in the month and year of publication, to Yolo County Librarian Eleanor Hitt. Penned on the front endpaper, the inscription reads ""For Miss Eleanor Hitt, with the best wishes of George Sterling. San Francisco, July 29th 1916"". Written during the First World War, these poems include several which appropriately fall under the heading ""On The Great War"".
