One of the Last books on Big game hunting, especially hunting tiger and leopard in India before the government banned hunting in India forever.
This volume, printed in a very small quantity by the author himself, describes his third trip to India to bag a tiger.
Having hunted in Africa earlier, Leahy was obsessed with adding a tiger to his trophy list, and he arranged a shikar with the outfitters in Central India (Madhya Pradesh) for 18 days from May 2-19 in 1964.
This book describes his daily records in pursuit of big game in India and details of bagging a leopard etc.
On the last day, he was able to fulfill his ambition.
The book is inscribed and signed by the author, and comes with a beautiful blackboard binding with a hand painted copper plate depicting a snarling tiger, attached to the board.
There are 4 real color photographs inside too, pasted with the text.
All these features make this a unique collectors item.
Only a handful copies are out, and I think this copy is the best one.
