Product Description

Tan cloth with titles and cover decoration in brown; folio; 194pp; illustrated with tipped-in color frontispiece after painting plus numerous text and full-page drawings by the author; color pictorial dust jacket; foreword by Dr.
William Bruette.
With chapters on guns and loads; grouse dogs; the birds of yesterday and today; shooting outfits and a lesson on grouse shooting.
Perhaps, the best grouse hunting book ever written and the illustrations are of equal brilliance.
This copy in very good condition with slight browning to the preliminaries and gutters from publisher's glue used to fasten the paste downs to the covers; bright cover & spine titles; the deckled fore edges lightly browned otherwise the text block is quite clean.
The uncommon dust jacket is in good condition with chips at the head and tail of spine and less so along edges; front panel somewhat loose from split along along seam but holding; rear panel lightly soiled with 2" chip at top near spine.
Also, inner flap is price-clipped.
Still, a decent copy and extremely hard-to-find in the 1st printing with jacket.
