Small 4to, ivory coloured boards with blind embossed border, titles on front and spine. 140pp, with 14 coloured, tipped-in illustrations and other drawings throughout the text by Shannon, Dulac, Rackham, Russell Flint, Napier Hemy, Detmold, Wilkinson, Wollen, Shepperson, A. C. Michael, Gray, Carlton A Smith, H M Brock etc, Literary contributions by A Conan Doyle, Kipling, Baroness Orczy, H. Rider Haggard, Barrie, Noyes, etc. This edition was presented to Mrs Traherne of Wales and still has the original paper clipped slip from H.R.H The Princess Royal. Generally in lovely condition for its age, slight bumping at the corners, endpapers age toned, mark from the paperclip on front pastedown, small ink mark on rear pastedown. This was published as a fund-raising album at the beginning of the First World War with the approval of Buckingham Palace and mainly aimed at children
