A lovely eleventh printing of the first American edition [Houghton Mifflin Co Boston (1959)], signed by Philip Roth directly on the half title page. The book is in near fine condition with a bumped spine bottom but with clean boards, a nice top stain, no remainder marks and a tight, square binding. The book has no owner inscriptions or highlighting and no staining or marking. The dust jacket is in very good condition, not price-clipped ($6.50), with small chips at the spine ends and a quarter-sized damp stain on the middle of the spine.
