His three-volume autobiography, of which this is the middle work, is an enduring classic. First US edition (states ""Published, July, 1917"" on copyright page). A very good copy (short tear to cloth at the top of the spine) in a grubby off-white dust jacket, with a few edge tears and chips, and a few tissue repairs on the back (verso). Very uncommon in jacket.
