I am starting up another thematic group of books about railroads and related topics here from my winter base in Florida. Here is another one titled: “The Rio Grande’s La Veta Pass Route-Gateway to the San Luis Valley,” by Stephen Rasmussen. This large-sized hard cover book (standard size 8 ¾ x 11 ¼ inches, 290 pages) was published by the Evergreen Press of Burlington, Vermont, dated 2000, and a First Edition (so stated). The book is bound in a dark slate gray cloth with gilt titles on the spine and protected by a glossy and colorful pictorial dust jacket. This book is well illustrated, starting with a route map of the Denver & Rio Grande R.R. and a wide array of vintage b&w photos and other figures including some other route maps. Condition: This book is in near fine condition. The dust jacket is very clean and bright and almost without any sign of wear. There is some small rippling along the top edge. The hard covers are pristine, clean, handsome and unbumped with bright gilt titles. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are bright white and clean throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight, sound and square. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
