Bound in green cloth with textural design, bright gilt title on spine. Folding of cloth on spine endcaps but no rubs/splits or shelf-wear evident to covers. Endpapers are photos of the sun-parlor where the turtles spent time in a small pond. Illustrations are b x w photos and cover art is by Charles Dana Gibson, the author's brother. The textblock shows some toning to a few pages, the frontis. is a color photo of turtle ""Virginia"". Unsigned volume, listed as #243 of a 300 vol. Limited Edition set. The dust jacket shows minor grime, chip and edge rips as repaired.
