Signed and inscribed directly on the title-page in ink (with an additional note in pencil to recipient by Schweitzer). Includes three letters from the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship over a course of a decade mailed in response to Reverend C. Aubrey Hearn's relentless pursuit of this signed book. Book includes the previous owner label of Hearn on the FFEP and is in fact inscribed by Albert Schweitzer to same on the title-page. Stated First Edition of the combined edition of these works. Original buff cloth a bit shaken, but holding nicely. DJ worn and a bit chipped at folds and spine ends. An important copy signed by Albert Schweitzer to fellow author and editor at the Baptist Sunday School Board. Charles Aubrey Hearn attended Yale and Vanderbilt with the intention of a life in the law, but was called to service with the Southern Baptist Convention and Sunday School Board. Hearn was a well-traveled missionary and outspoken opponent of alcohol. His most important work ""Alcohol and Christian Influence"" was published in 1957 by Convention Press.
