Bound in pebbled black cloth with titles and decoration in gilt on spine and front board. 17 full page b&w illustrations by Ernest Wallcousins, including frontispiece. Dozens of stories by such diverse authors as Agatha Christie, Daniel Defoe, Lord Dunsany, Wilkie Collins, and many, many others. Square and tight with some moderate wear to spine ends, edges and tips. Crown a bit toned. Spine gilt a bit dulled. Off-setting to end-papers. Neat ownership signature in pencil on front end-paper. Very scarce clipped, though unpriced, dust-jacket. has a couple of 1"" chips to the top rear edge and crown. Small nicks to the heel. Toned edges and spine and some discoloration on front panel. Still complete with no creases or tears and impossible to find in any condition. A quite respectable collectable copyat a great price.
