B&W Illustrations; SIGNED EDITION. This copy has been signed by the author on the front endpaper. The book is in Near Fine condition and has a Very Good- dust jacket. The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. There is some very beginning bumping and rubbing to the spine ends and corners of the book covers. The text pages are clean and bright. The dust jacket is in generally clean condition, but has several small edge nicks and smallish tears, some fading to the spine and some light rubbing and wear to the spine joints and corners. This is a log of a sailing barque - The Emerald - as it traveled in search of whales. The author of this log was William Henry Nichols, the grandfather of Captain Henry Nichols who has published the log.
