Crite's work was was a precursor to the later civil rights era "Black is Beautiful" movement. Crite was recently featured at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (Allan Rohan Crite: Urban Glory, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, October 23, 2025 â" January 19, 2026.) Crite graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and received a degree from Harvard.
