Inscribed association copy of this book based on the hit Broadway musical which debuted in 1948.
This copy inscribed to the longtime president of the Tams-Whitmark Music Library which was responsible for licensing scripts and scores to stock, amateur, and professional theatres.
Under the direction of Aborn, Tams-Whitmark was the agent for many of the most important musical theater works of the era including Kiss Me Kate, My Fair Lady, Bye Bye Birdie, Hello, Dolly!, and others, giving these plays lasting exposure beyond their Broadway runs.
Inscribed copies in jacket of the first edition are scarce, and this with an excellent Broadway association.
Hardcover in dust jacket, inscribed by Sam and Bella Spewack to Louis Aborn on the ffep and dated in 1953.
