Folding plate in June 1931 (Vol. IV, No. 18) issue is cut in half along the fold (appears to have been cut when page edges were trimmed during binding.) ; Volume Four of the New Zealand Alpine Journal, which consists of issues number 16, 17, and 18. 240 pages + plates. Number 16 with 9 illustrations on 3 plate leaves; Number 17 with 7 illustrations on 2 plate leaves. 1 full page map within the pagination; Number 18 with 13 illustrations on 4 plate leaves (1 folding). 1 full page map within the pagination. Rebound in later blue cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine. Page dimensions: 209 x 129mm. Page edges sprinkled in red. [NB: The issue numbering is consecutive across the volume numbers, with the last issue of Volume III being number 15, and the first issue of Volume IV being number 16. The first issue of Volume V is number 19. Original 1928-1931 printings, rebound in later blue cloth boards. Original printed paper wrappers not present.
