March, 1937; VOLUME 1, No. 1; 8.5 x 11.5, 28 pp This is NOT the publication from the Fish and Game Commission, but a later magazine from J. J. McCall: ""A magazine covering all phases of Sports, and devoted to their upbuilding in the State of Oregon - The Playground of America."" Later he writes that the magazine ""will strive to be just what its name implies - a medium which will bring to its readers news of the activities in all healthy, honest sports and outdoor pleasures in which they are interested."" This, the first - and maybe ONLY issue is devoted to Winter Sports with a history of Mount Hood, coverage of skiing, ice skating, bowling, fishing and lots more. BW photos and vintage advertising for local and regional sports, sporting and other businesses and organizations - throughout. Excellent condition; small bend: lower left corner; small stains to bottom page margins at back cover; otherwise very nice, near-fine condition. Appears to be uncommon.
