) Stinson, who was one of the most prominent pioneer printers in early Oregon history, and who also rose to become the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Oregon Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
After working on early papers in Albany, Oregon, Stinson moved to Salem where he established himself as a major independent master printer.
In 1869, he founded the famous Willamette Farmer newspaper, and in 1872, he installed the very first modern cylinder printing press in the city of Salem.
After his death in 1879, his wife Sarah famously took over operations under the imprint "Mrs.

Stinson and Son, Printers"?becoming one of the first professional female printers in Oregon history.
