First Edition (NAP, The Four Seas Company= NAP). Once listed, this will be the Only copy for sale anywhere on the Internet. Moreover, it is signed and inscribed by the author. The signed inscription is on the front end paper. It reads: 'Presented to Mr. and Mrs. John L. Rogers by the Author, Christmas, 1929, Ernest E. Davies.' You can see the covers of the book in the photos. Both the labels on the front cover and the spine are in very good condition. You'll notice some color variation, hues of green and pink on the covers.I think that is natural to the way the covers were produced, maybe the sun came into play as well. I think it looks nice. There is a little bit of light crinkling on the front cover, also a few thin scuffs just adjacent to the spine. There is a small loss and some wear at both the top and bottom edges of the spine. Take a look at the fourth photo. The cover edges look good. The front top corner has a smallish spot of rub-through. I don't see any conspicuous wear at the other three corners. The book is solidly bound from cover to cover. I didn't find any binding issues. The covers are nicely, tightly bound. The middle and bottom page edges are deckled or rough-cut. They did a good job. Most of the edges are smooth and even, a few are a bit rougher, but that's the way it's supposed to be. The pages look very good. I don't see any soiling at all. That's also the case with the front and rear inside covers and end papers. The pages also appear to be free of any conspicuous creasing, no turned-down corners or placeholder creases. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And the author's signed inscription is the only writing to be found anywhere. The dust jacket is spineless. I mean that in the nicest way. The fifth picture will show you what remains of the jacket. As you can see it is NOT price-clipped. You can also read about the book from the front flap.
