Single poem printed recto in black on heavy stock measuring 14.5 x 20.5 inches. With an elaborate illustration framing the poem by Gregory Colfax. Signed by both Niatum and Colfax. Of an edition limited to 125 copies, this is hand-numbered copy 102. Seattle-based Niatum has published several collections of his poetry, along with appearances in many anthologies. He's a member of the Jamestown Band of the S'Klallam Tribe. ""Earth Vowels"" was published on the occasion of Niatum's 2006 reading at the National Museum of the American Indian; it then appeared as the title poem in a 2017 collection. A master-carver and illustrator, Greg Colfax, is a member of the Makah Tribe, and also works as a scholar and educator specializing in the history of Native Pacific Northwest arts. Vibrantly printed by Chris Stern and Jules Remedios Faye, proprietors of the acclaimed Grey Spider Press. Preserved in a removable, clear archival sleeve with acid-free backing. .
