What is rather magnificent about this book is that it has an ink hand-penned bookplate of St Francis of Assisi [Tertius] writing with his quill with his wolf leaning over his shoulder. It's truly beautiful. - The illustration has a border, and beneath the border is written: From M.T. - To.A.P. Gutch. - Trinity xx 1939. - M.T. is I.M. Truman & GUTCH, ALFRED PITT. Matric. Priced on inner front prelim at 5/- NET. Small chips to top and bottom of spine and corners. Tipped in colour illustration of St. Francis of Assisi with his wolf. The jacket illustration is by John Perret. Now housed in a removable archival sleeve for future protection. Rust coloured cloth boards with gold gilt lettering to the spine; this is in a very good condition. The boards are very clean and hold the page block within, very tightly. Cloth on the top and bottom of the spine is lightly frayed. There are 119 pages. There is occasional foxing and minor soiling. The text is not affected adversely by this.
