Beige Cloth boards with Yellow blocked titles to front, 215 x 170 mm approx. 72 pp Frontis + 4 other full page duo -tone illustrations and numerous black and white illustrations in text by Peter Hughes. Undated [1945] no printing history stated or date on copyright page. Attributed as First Edition 1945 by reference to the 4 copies held at National and University libraries on Library Hub (Jisc). War economy paper of book block significantly but evenly tanned. Binding sound with no cracks to end papers. Dust Jacket - mild general shelf soiling, chipped - mainly to head and tail of spine and with tears and associated line creasing - max loss 2 x 1 cm to tail, max tear - 4 cm to top rear panel. Now in a removable proprietary protective sleeve to which pieces of cartridge paper have been inserted to mask the stark white of the backing paper so as not to offend the eye on the bookshelf. Non price clipped - cover 4/6 No other notable defects to book or jacket. Collection of stories for young readers 7-10 years of age. Now quite scarce.
