Skinner's history examines Oregon from the time Lewis and Clark set foot in it to the fall of Jacob Astor's fur empire. About half of her book is devoted to the expedition of Lewis and Clark, and includes the anecdote of how they added Sacajawea to their expedition party. Skinner's narrative is enriched by historical descriptions of Oregon from primary sources. A bright example. A Near Fine book with a mild odor of tobacco and a tiny dampspot on the bottom textblock.
