Product Description

A very good copy of the stated first (1928) hard cover edition, lacking a dust-jacket.
Inscribed and signed on the front free edpaper: "To Evan Morgan / With all good wishes / from / Austen Chamberlain / Cardiff / Nov.
28th 1930.
" Evan [Frederic] Morgan was the 2nd Viscount Tredegar (1893 - 1949), a noted eccentric.
The text of the book is wholly unmarked, pristine, and the green cloth with gilt lettering on the spine is remarkably bright and fresh in appearance.
There is a bit of foxing/age-toning to the endpapers, the first few/last pages, and the page edges of the volume: unobtrusive.
The book came to us from the library of a late local scholar of the world peace movements, and has a Highgate Auctions card laid in, which may indicate how he obtained this and other rare items from this period.
A beautiful copy.
