Senator Shelby M.
Cullom (1829-1914) represented Illinois from 1883-1913 and served as Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference from 1911-1913.
Earlier in his career, Cullom was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1865-1871 and Governor of Illinois from 1876-1883.
