Here is the list of the known works of Antonio Jacobsen, possibly the most prolific of all marine artists.
Born in 1850 in Copenhagen, he came to America in 1873 and launched himself into a career as a marine painter.
The checklist of his paintings and sketches numbers over 4000 entries.
The works listed represent some 2600 of the steam and sailing vessels which frequented New York harbor between 1873 and 1919.
A very good copy with light wear.
The text is very good with some light foxing to a few page margins.
The jacket is good with a few small chips and tears to the edges and spine tips.
