Fine if you discount marks made by the author; a tiny white stain to rear cover near spine; a few dust spots to fore edges of pages; a little soil and a few scuffs to top edge of pages; else As New. In Good dust jacket with some edge wear at top and bottom and some fading/staining/soil to spine; in a mylar sleeve. Stated First Edition. Signed on first free page: ""Mervyn LeRoy My Book April 15th 1980"". Contains underlining, seemingly by a felt tip pen also used for the signature, on the DJ and in the book, primarily within the Introduction and DEDICATION, and primarily of LeRoy's name and the names of actors and films. LeRoy died of heart failure complicated by Alzheimer's disease in 1987, and one can speculate that the markings in his 1953 First Edition were made by him during the early stages of Alzheimer's as he reminisced/tried to recall his career.
