Large 8vo. Pp. [8], 417. Introduction by William Hodapp. Bound in blue cloth with gilt lettering and green pattern stamped on spine. Cloth a touch worn. In the illustrated dust jacket, faded and price-clipped, that's defective: front panel and front flap detached; a third of the rear flap excised. Inscribed by William Hodapp on the front free endpaper. Inscription reads, ""To Jack, too young to have known about all this (so was I, really, thank God) but a guy who I think would get a smile out of some of it - + to remember '51. / Regards, Bill"". Inexplicably, among the excerpts are those from Hitler and John Maynard Keynes. The dust jacket illustration by John Held, Jr., is a cartoonish send up the 1920s, a tuxedo-wearing swell holding an oversized cocktail shaker grins broadly while his flapper gal-pal shimmies. Dust jacket is now enclosed in a removable, clear archival sleeve.
