Product Description

HISTORY OF THE CANAL SYSTEM OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK 1905 2 VOLUMES COMPLETE VG.
I am pleased to be able to offer a magnificent two-volume set titled: History of the Canal System of the State of New York, together with Brief Histories of the Canals of the United States and Canada by Noble E.
Whitford.
These two medium-sized hard cover volumes (6 ¼ x 9 ¼ inches, 1547 pages in two volumes) was published under the Authority of the State Engineer and Surveyor.
The books are bound in finely textured dark blue or green boards with embossed framing and gilt titles on the spines.
This set includes almost 30 Maps and Illustrations , all of which are present and also two fold-out plates contained in a pocket at the rear of Volume II (clearly never opened).
Condition: These two books are in very good condition.
The boards are generally clean and very presentable with minor bumping at the corners and spine tips.
Inside there is a crudely crossed out name of a former owner and a tipped-in signed compliments slip from the State Engineer.
The pages are clean and bright throughout without toning or foxing.
Both hinges of Vol.
I are torn to the webbing (but could be repaired with some librarian s tape) while the hinges of Vol.
II are intact.
The bindings are tight and sound.
These books are not ex-library or remainders.
