1903, First Edition, This is a presentation copy inscribed and signed by author on title page to his co-author (of the Drake Medal) James Duncan Hague (American mining engineer, mineralogist, and geologist).
Condition: Very Good, Brown cloth boards, text block, and edges are clean, unmarked and tightly bound.
Boards have edge wear and corners are bumped.
Head and foot of spine are worn.
Pages are age-toned and one end paper has an one inch closed tear (taped).
Text block has a slight wave.
The two large folding maps have small tears on the neat lines, but do not have holes or damage (see pictures).
