Description

First printing with Rinehart colophon on copyright page. Black boards are pretty clean, corners bumped, slight fading to top and bottom edges of covers, discoloration to head and tail of spine, shelf wear to head and tail. Spine titling is still bright, with a little rubbing on middle of spine below title. Discoloration at gutter to end papers. Binding is tight, although covers open easily. Interior is heavily age-toned, as is common. A few pencil marks/notations to ""The Opening,"" otherwise clean. Dustjacket is age-toned, worn along folds, heavily chipped at corners with 1/4"" missing from both head and tail of spine. Spine sunned and age-toning to edges of flaps. Missing ""M"" in title on front flap where a sticker was removed. Flaps are not clipped and price is intact. Cover is still fairly bright with one faint vertical scratch. Presents very nicely in mylar. ""An uninhibited look at the glittering world of the carny."" Gresham followed up his bestselling carny novel ""Nightmare Alley"" with this book, a non-fiction collection of essays.
