Printed in 1594 at Leiden by Franciscus Raphelengius for the Plantin Press, this first edition of Lucius Apuleius’s Opera Omnia compiles all known extant texts attributed to the Roman author. Included are the full Metamorphoses (The Golden Ass), Florida, Apologia, On Plato and his Doctrine, and De Mundo, the latter traditionally attributed to pseudo-Aristotle. The volume concludes with the logical fragment Περὶ ἑρμηνείας. Its compact sextodecimo format and classical content made it a valuable scholarly tool in the Renaissance and beyond. Binding is full leather with a tooled stamp to both boards and exhibits mild rubbing. Text block is tight and internally clean throughout. No illustrations are noted.
