Bound in the original green cloth with spine and front cover with gilt titles, colour frontispiece and 8 colour plates mounted on thicker card pages (these do not appear in the standard trade edition), 12 tipped in pencil plates all by the late Archibald Thorburn. No inscriptions or bookplates. Approximately 11 ½ inches tall (29.3cm). Externally Spine good condition green cloth with gilt titles, a little darkening, very minor rubbing. Joints very good condition. Corners very good condition gently worn. Page edges good condition tanned and darkened top edge, untrimmed to others. Internally Hinges good condition sound. Paste downs and FEPs good condition - yellow paper. End papers good condition - yellow paper. Title good condition. Pages good condition, first prelims very lightly tanned. Binding good condition attractive. Colour illustrations are bright and clear and with intact tissue guards. Pencil plates are bright and clear. All text is bright and clear.
