By-Laws and Register of the American Alpine Club. Wilcox, Walter, Editor. New York: 1923. Most importantly, it contains a detailed list of the mountaineering achievements of the many 1923 members. Also contains club records, such as officials, past officers, honorary members, by-laws, conditions of membership, description of publications, a sketch of the Club's early history, narrative about annual meetings and annual dinners in 1920-22 (especially interesting is a short write-up about a dinner in honor of George Mallory on 1/31/1923 at which he spoke about his first attempt on Everest -- he died the following year on Everest). The list of active members with their climbs and accomplishments is very detailed -- some of the people listed include Hiram Bingham, Annette and Helen Buck, Asahel and Edward Curtis, Edmond Meany, Howard Palmer, and many others. Quite a few women with some pretty impressive accomplishments. Among the recently-deceased members are Rear Admiral Robert E. Peary and Sir Ernest Shackleton (whose name they misspelled!).
