Unique broadside celebrating the visit of 2 French cosmonauts/astronauts to NASA Headquarters on Friday, April 8, 1983. The broadside is signed by both Jean-Loup Chretien and Patrick Baudry, who were at NASA to make a presentation on the results of the Soviet space flight Soyuz T-6 to the Salyut 7 space station June 24 - July 2, 1982. Chretien was a research specialist on the space fligh,t and Baudry was his backup. Chretien was the first non-American westerner in space; he later flew on an additional Soviet mission as well as on one NASA Space Shuttle mission. Baudry later flew aboard NASA's Space Shuttle mission STS-51-G. Provenance: from the collection of Lee Saegesser (NASA's chief archivist for 30 years), who created the unique broadside on the verso of a NASA Photo Request form. The 2 French cosmonauts sgned the broadside for Saegesser in NASA Headquarters on the day of their presentation.
