Apparently the first edition, a selection of largely devotional poetry clearly not intended for children in spite of the book s format.
The preface is signed "Alfred" and dated June, 1843; the Bodleian Library catalogue identifies the editor of Heart-Breathings as David Alfred Doudney.
Two copies in OCLC, at New York Public and Monash University, the former describing its binding as "original paper cover illustrated in colors.
" Another, certainly later, edition, with double-rule frames around the text, is at the British Library.
No library record mentions the chromolithographed additional title.
